Favourite Huell line – “I’ll be in touch.”

Favourite Carpet Cleaner line – “Sir, we’d love to take more of your money, but you’ve got gas soaked straight through to your sub floor.”

Favourite Kuby line – “For three hours straight all he talked about was something called Babylon 5.”

Favourite Walt Jr line – “Dad, please can you just, tell the truth?”

Favourite Locksmith line – “Usually with a break in, people like to get new keys.”

Favourite Skyler line – “We’ve come this far. For us. What’s one more?”

Untitled - 108

Favourite Hank line – “Walt’s a bastard. Secret’s out. We’ll talk about it. But I need you to put out the lighter, okay? Look, Jesse… Jesse, I don’t want to kill you. And you don’t wanna be killed. So put it out.”

Favourite Marie line – “I can’t sleep, I’m not eating. Last night I was online for 6 hours looking up untraceable poisons.”

Favourite Gomez line – “Loud and clear, idiota.”

Favourite Saul line – “Look, ok, but say, you know, just for the sake of argument, the kid’s not in the mood for a nuanced discussion of the virtues of child poisoning, you know, his plans are running more towards stabbing you to death with a pointed stick. In that scenario, then what?”

Untitled - 94

Favourite Walt line – “But clearly, I haven’t explained the situation well enough, because this is a big overreaction. We all need to just take a deep breath and calm down, because Jesse isn’t just some– some– some rabid dog. This is a person.”

Favourite Jesse line – “He poisoned a little kid. An eight-year-old boy. Just because, you know– just as a move!”

Favourite Jesse/Walt exchange –

Untitled - 125

Walter: “Hello?”

Jesse: “Nice try, asshole.”

Walter: “Jesse, where are you? I just wanna talk to you.”

Jesse: “No. I’m not doing what you want anymore. Okay, asshole? This is just a heads-up to let you know I’m coming for you. See, I decided that burning down your house is nothing. Next time, I’m gonna get you where you really live.”

Skysenberg for the win!

Untitled - 107

What a great moment, when Hank is putting on the seatbelt for Jesse. And when Hank drives off, we see if Walt had been just a few seconds earlier, he would have seen Hank leaving.

Untitled - 103

The Hello Kitty phone cover continues to pay off, adding a small moment of comedy in a pretty dark episode.

Untitled - 106

I’m not going anywhere, says Walt. Walt plans, and God laughs.

Jesse receives the Marie purple treatment. Purple bedspread, purple sheets, staring at something purple on the bedside cabinet.

Snoskred Notes –

Walter White has become a better liar as the series has progressed. He has learned the number one trick for liars – when you get caught in a lie, back up and tell another one, with his gas pump story.

He also knows that details sell the story, but the regretful look on his face when he realises he needs to gasoline the car.. yeah I’d be unhappy about doing that, too!

Untitled - 97

Loved Saul and his “old yeller” story.

I also enjoyed how this episode was almost divided into two parts springing off from the same event – the first part where we have no idea where Jesse is, and the second part where we find out.

What a great Jesse line – “Whatever you think’s supposed to happen, I’m telling you the exact reverse opposite of that is going to happen”.

A tidbit from the commentary track – on the bookshelf, they had to digitally edit out the DVD box sets for Breaking Bad seasons 1-4. You will see them as blank blue and green space.

Hank is super cold about Jesse and the possibility of his being killed on camera. I think this is the moment when I actively began to dislike Hank.
