Favourite scenes –

Let us talk for a minute about a scene with no words at all. Just a ouija board, and a bell. And yet, so powerful and well acted.

How amazing was the Saul VS Jesses parents & their lawyer scene.

Walt throwing the pizza.

Notable Music – America, “Horse With No Name” (on youtube) – This truly is an epic sing along song. It has the la la la bit, if you don’t know the words you can always sing the la la la bit.

Ending Song – The Breaking Bad theme composed by Dave Porter

Jesse Lightbulb Moment – This one is EPIC, the buying of the house and scamming his parents out of a bunch of money as repayment for how they’ve treated him.

Notable Shots –

A couple from our teaser – the rear view mirror shot –

And this lovely wide shot. I love that Breaking Bad knows we do not need to be in close to always know what is going on. Sometimes a scene played from a wide shot can be a thing of great beauty.

Episode Running Time on DVD – 45m 19s

Snoskred Notes –

Caballo Sin Nombre = A horse with no name.

Ted explaining why he is cooking the books – and Skyler seems to understand what he is saying, like it is ok for Ted to do illegal things for his family, but not ok for Walt to do illegal things. This is a tiny bit frustrating, isn’t it?

This is the third time we have seen Pollos as a text message. It was seen previously in “Mandala” and “No Mas“. And so, the cousins take their axe and leave as silently as they appeared.

Saul makes an important point this week, about Skyler. I’ll let him tell you –

“She’s not going to the cops, she’s not telling a living soul. You wanna know why? One word: blowback. If she blabs, it’ll be a disaster – for her. That DEA brother-in-law? Screwed! You were right under his nose. He’ll be lucky if they let him bust glue sniffers at the hobby shop. The kids? Paging Dr. Phil! “My daddy’s a drug dealer and my mommy turned him in!” And the house? Gone! The feds will come in and RICO her and the kids out on the street. Good luck arguing with them on that, noooo. It’s not gonna happen. She’s bluffing. And she knows it.”
