~ Favourites ~
Favourite Walt Jr line – “Yo, what’s up”
Favourite Skyler line – “Please don’t say yo, you can’t know how much I hate that”
Favourite Hank line – “Autopsy of a pot overdose?” “Smells like a Drakkar Noir factory in here”
Favourite Gomey line – “Somebody croaked our snitch”
Favourite Marie line – “I hate these shoes. These shoes make me look like I should be changing bedpans. Like I should be squeaking around bringing soup to some disgusting old person and then take the bus home to my 16 cats”
Favourite Walt line – “The moment I do, are you gonna stick me with that broken piece of plate?”
Favourite Jesse line – “Oh well, heil Hitler, bitch! And let me tell you something else. We flipped a coin, okay? You and me. You and me! Coin flip is sacred! Your job is waiting for you in that basement, as per the coin!”
Favourite Jesse/Walt exchange –
Walter: – “You mean that obscenity that I spent the last two hour cleaning up? That is your contribution?”
Jesse: – “Yo kiss my pink ass man. I didn’t ask for any of this. Alright how am I supposed to live here now huh? My whole house smells like toe cheese and dry cleaning.”
Favourite scenes –
Walt and Jesse fighting in the bathroom.
Marie stealing the shoes. How beautifully lit this shot is!
Hank and Walt Jr at the Crystal Palace.
Walt and Crazy 8 singing the ad.
Walt putting the pieces together.
Walt finally doing his “job”.
Gomey and Hank at the “crime scene” – these two have so much chemistry together.
All of the other music including the ending song this episode was composed by Dave Porter who composed a lot of music for Breaking Bad, so you will be seeing his name a lot here. 🙂
Jesse Lightbulb Moment #3 – Throwing the meth out of the window – good call on that one Jesse, much better than last week with the whole bathtub thing.
Notable Shots –
This was part of a series of amazing shots – inside the car with the focus on the traffic, then the focus switching to Walt.
Episode Running Time on DVD – 46min 14secs
DVD Extras – None for this episode.
Snoskred Notes –
That has to be the most yicky cold open in the history of television. But good on them for not shying away from it, and making Jesse and Walt clean all that up. You can tell this show will never shy away from anything.
I also like how they gave us a glimpse of Young Walt, but he seems pretty different to Current Walt. Young Walt seems just a little egotistical. And, he had long hair, and a beard. He kind of looks like he should be in the Bee Gees. Present Walt seems to be spending a lot of time tipping buckets into toilets, at the moment at least.
Please to note, that Jesse Heil Hitler Bitch is one of my favourite Bitch combinations. There are so many, and they are all fantastic, but that one stands out among all the other ones because these are not two things that should go together – and the gestures that Jesse puts with it.. this is one truly classic Jesse moment..
Do we need to talk about Crazy 8 being a snitch? We find this out thanks to Hank and Gomey at the cook site. If Walt had let Crazy 8 go, that would have been the end of everything right there. It almost feels like we need a moments that the end of everything could have happened if only X tag.
And this is it – the very last moment before Walt becomes Cancer Man to everyone – he is finally going to tell Skyler what is going on.
The science of Breaking Bad – And the Bag’s in the River
